New details about the upcoming Guardians Of The Galaxy – The Telltale Series game have sprung, possibly inadvertently, from Gamestop’s pre-order page.
“Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy – The Telltale Series delivers a brand new story of the universe’s unlikeliest heroes, the rag-tag band of outlaws who go by the names Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot. In the wake of an epic battle, the Guardians discover an artifact of unspeakable power. Each of the Guardians has a reason to desire this relic, as does a ruthless enemy who is the last of her kind, and who will stop at nothing to tear it from their hands. From Earth to the Milano to Knowhere and beyond, and set to the beat of awesome music, this five-part episodic series puts you in the rocket-powered boots of Star-Lord in an original Guardians adventure, told in the unique and award-winning Telltale style, where your decisions and actions will drive the path of the story you experience.”
This synopsis reveals something contradictory to what was initially revealed about the game. The synopsis is nothing official, but it does assert that the upcoming telltale game with follow a plot that is centered on Star-Lord. This is significantly different from the expectations followers of the game held which were the idea that Guardians of the Galaxy – The Telltale Series would follow a plot that would jump between all of the guardians not just Star-Lord. Following Telltale’s five-episode formula, Guardians Of The Galaxy – The Telltale Series might choose to focus on a single protagonist to keep their story from getting too bogged down with multiple story lines considering the length of previous Telltale games. Still, we’ll have to wait and see what the writers and creators decide.
Furthermore, according to some sources, GameStop’s pre-order page also tagged Guardians of Galaxy – The Telltale Series for release on April 25th. This date is no longer visible on the page as it has since been removed.
An earlier version of the pre-order page pinned the game’s initial release date as April 25 – just a week before Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 movie is released. That date has since been removed from the entry, however there is nothing to suggest whether the date was accidentally posted or if it was not the correct date to begin with.
