Dragon Quest Heroes II has actually been out in Japan for a while now, 7 months to be exact, and has gained quite a few additions over its predecessor. North American audiences felt slightly shafted by the lack of release in the west but that all ends today!
In a press release yesterday, Square Enix formally announced the western launch of the sequel for April 25th. Alongside it, they gave a few more details on the setting of this followup entry:
“Set in an all-new world with new heroes and story, DRAGON QUEST HEROES II is an action-RPG that sends players on a grand adventure to restore order to a once peaceful world, with thrilling battles of epic proportions along the way. With the addition of multiplayer functionality, players can form a party of up to four online to conquer swarms of enemies and defeat gigantic monsters.”
The last line should be extremely welcome as the previous entry did not feature any multiplayer aspect at all which strayed far from Koei-Tecmo’s Dynasty Warrior formula. It seems this time around they learned their lesson and we can expect some fun with friends. Now that we have a PS4, I can’t wait to smash some golden slimes with good company.
Draqon Quest Heroes II is set for release for the PS4 and more than likely a version will make its way to PC in Spring of next year.
