The Division was actually one of the first major titles we covered on Bombchu so it’s really interesting to see the game continue to grow and find new ways of keeping itself alive. Although it’s barely over a year old, the “tactical” instance based shooter has made a name for itself by way of both scandal and significant improvements to the game’s structure and community.
If the game intends to continue breathing, however, it will definitely need to grab as many new players as it can. Today, by way of the Ubiblog, Ubisoft announced that they will be holding a free weekend event beginning this Thursday, May 4th and ending this Sunday, May 7th. For players who may not have tried out the title yet, this free period gives everyone a chance to experience everything in the standard edition of the game including the PVP chaos of the Dark Zone and the extra enhancements that have been added to the game since its launch.
If that isn’t enough to draw you towards the Pandemic ridden streets of New York, all progress made in this free period will also carry over to the full game if you decide to purchase after trying it out.
There’s still a slew of new content on its way for The Division this year so I expect the game to continue growing as it tries its best to retain and gain new players. This free event will be available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC so if you haven’t tried it out just yet, why not give it a go this weekend!
