Capcom recently went through a heavy effort in January to release Mega Man Mobile, a collection of the classic franchise from entries 1 through 6, but the company is looking to extend its mobile investment even further. Paraphrased from one of our writers, Aizenstein, the push towards mobile is inevitable for developers to remain viable in this day and age and it looks like Capcom has taken that to heart.
Its next mobile ports are other beloved fan favorites that include Ghosts’N Goblins, Ghouls’N Ghosts, Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando, and my personal favorite of the bunch 1942. I fondly remember playing this game in the arcade as well as its sequels so having it on my phone may actually be a problem due to its addicting nature. Similar to the Mega Man Mobile launch, these titles have been spruced up and should play a little differently than you’re used to. Further details were revealed by Capcom:
“Each of these games maintains fidelity to the originals, while offering players the option to play in modes that take full advantage of touch screen devices. In addition to Classic and Casual modes of play several of the games offer control options such as auto-fire and different button arrangements. Each game will also feature leaderboards so players can see how their skills compare against players from around the globe. All four games are expected to be available within the next few months.”
If more companies take this approach to their extended libraries, IOS and Android could definitely become the go-to place to play classic games on the go when we don’t have a Nintendo Switch or laptop handy. These four titles are currently priced at $2.99 USD & should be out in the near future.
