We were treated to the official gameplay reveal for Prey a few months back and were amazed by the visuals and direction the game was being taken in. However, no one expected what came in their newest trailer. Or rather, maybe no one knew they wanted it.
In the official gameplay trailer subtitled “-Version 2 | Another Yu”, we’re treated to the exact same trailer but the VO has been swapped with a woman’s voice. From what Bethesda has let us know, Morgan Yu (the protagonist) can be played as either a man or a woman depending on your preference. This does not affect the story or the way others react to you however it does give the player a more connected feel.
Prey is starting to look less like a sci-fi shooter and more like a horror game as it continues to develop with the choices being defined by the players. There’s still quite some time until we get to experience the game but it’s nice to see the sequel getting more attention from Bethesda than anyone expected.
Prey releases sometime in 2017 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Whether you pick male or female, it looks like Yu is in for one trippy ride.
