When the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series is brought up, thoughts turn to strong mature themes and story arcs. Atlus, however, has done a great job in ensuring the universes we’ve grown to love still have a light and fluffy side. This was no less clear than when P4 spun off into both a very well made fighting game and a tongue in cheek dancing game. That trend is continuing today as Atlus released trailers for two brand new titles: Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night and Persona 5: Dancing Star Night.
These two titles, slated for 2018, following in the footsteps of P4: Dancing All Night which was a rhythm game for the PlayStation Vita. These two new titles will feature fan favorites Junpei, Yukari, Aigis, Ryuji, Ann, Makoto, and of course the two protagonists. What’s unique about these titles is they will be leaving the realm of mobile and heading to PS4 as well.
If you thought that two Persona spin off games were enough, however, Atlus didn’t stop there. In addition, they announced Persona Q2 which follows the 3DS title from 2014 that featured a crossover of P3 and 4 characters as well as some brand new ones. Persona Q played more like Etrian Odyssey where you had to map floors and make notes; this adjustment probably was the reason it wasn’t adopted and doted on as heavily. There’s no release date or system information as of yet but the signature P5 emblem was shown meaning that at the very least, we can expect to see some of the new guys mix it up this time around.
