Well technically, it’s been a little over a year since we launched but our official “opening” wasn’t until a month later. The first editorial I ever wrote spoke about disappointment and how we had become accustomed to it as a culture. How we accepted broken games as they are and began to expect them to not only be failures but to also have day one patches regardless of development time.
It was a look at what I believed was important at the time but comparing the state of the games then to now… it doesn’t look like anything has really changed on that front and now I’m forced to accept that this is how things are now. Later in that same article, I spoke about our commitment to provide excellent articles, content, and continue to grow towards that goal. Since that promise, I’m not sure exactly on the level of the excellence we’ve delivered but I can say we hit some pretty major milestones within our first year out in the wild.
Thanks to the readers, viewers, retweeters, indie developers, and constant inspiration from video games as a whole, we’ve gotten exclusive interviews, first looks at unreleased games, and a lot of other experiences we never thought we could. From our first view on the website to our first comment on our YouTube Channel, It’s been amazing to share this journey with everyone and see how our creations can make people both smile and laugh but also think on some of the ideas we’ve put into the ethos.
Sincerely, I’d like to thank everyone I’ve worked with on projects and everyone that continues to put up with my long rants on this site. It’s because of you that we continue to create content and 2017 should prove a spectacular year in both gaming and for our brand. Within a few days, the site will be going down for about a day for some maintainance and when we return, we’ll have a “new haircut” of sorts. Can’t wait to show it off and thanks again for sticking with us when no one else thought we could!
